The Southwest Public Safety Technology Center (SWTC) often works in partnerships between industry and the public sector. These industrial partners may simply be vendors, or they may be commercial entities that stand to gain from the knowledge that SWTC produces. Or these industry partners may simply wish to provide such help as a public service.
SWTC staff often have opportunities to hear about promising new technologies at technical conferences. SWTC is frequently called on by Texas agencies to evaluate promising public safety technologies and provide objective analysis about their cost-effectiveness. (Go to the Test & Evaluation section for examples of evaluations SWTC has done in the past).
